Well, apparently fuse 31 is also for the iDrive controller. Do not keep any lights, cooling fan, or radio on during this time. You can take this a step further and disconnect the battery negative terminal. I was able to get ahold of a fuse tester and found fuse 31 to be blown, from the fuse chart in the car fuse 31 looks like it is for the seat movement and heated seats, it was also listed for something else, looked maybe like a radio, a rectangle with two circles on each end. To fix drivetrain malfunction try this: Park in a safe spot, turn off the engine, and wait for five minutes with the ignition turned off. I never touched the center console or anything, which is why I'm drawing a blank. Can anybody help? I need to know if it's just a blown fuse or if I did something else to the idrive controller. Atough your 4 Pin connector has power and CAN as the OEM controller does. If the button or iDrive controller unit is defective, cleaning or re-soldering the motherboard pins may fix it however, it will need to be professionally repaired if the computer is defective. Is there a fuse for just the iDrive controller? The sheet BMW gives you in the fuse box doesn't help me because half of those icons are hard to interpret. I have a non idrive 135i and I also just bought an android unit that came with. If the BMW iDrive controller is not working, it may be a faulty iDrive circular dial or the central iDrive control computer is defective. I disconnected the fuse taps and put all fuses back in their normal spots, same deal, everything works except the iDrive Controller. Everything works as it did before I did all this work, except the iDrive. I have tested everything else in my car, all other buttons, functions, mirrors, cameras, seat, heated seats. I can't scroll, and none of the buttons are working. After I changed my oil I went into the car to go check the engine oil level and that's when I realized it wasn't working. Every damn thing in my car works as it should, EXCEPT the iDrive controller now. Both hard wire connections work, and the cigarette lighters work. I used a fuse tap at the back fuse box and tapped into that cigarette lighter fuse. I used a fuse tap on the front fuse box, tapped into the cigarette lighter. Flip the iDrive controller over and remove the bottom-most black plastic cover. The video runs through installation and first runs with it. Very carefully pull the ribbon out from the PCB board to remove the circular PCB board from the controller knob. I was given a Idrive throttle controller to do a review on and wow what an impressive little unit. I assume this is the removal of touchpad on the control nob next to the shifting stick. it will help) The CCC HU, CCC/CIC CID, Idrive Knob, and HVAC panel are disconnected to rule things out, no chages. On the electrical ribbon connection, pull the brown tab outward release tension on the ribbon. Like many of others who placed order during this time, I see the iDrive Controller non-touchpad as an option on my build. I started to learn things about X7 after I placed my order. I changed the oil in my car, as well as hard wiring a dash cam and hard wiring a phone charger. Quit frankly I think this forum is amazing.
